In 1974 Matra developed the M670 into a even more aerodynamic version, the M680. The
radiators were moved to the side of the engine - which allowed for a redesign
of the front, which was made shorter and more abrubt.
The M680 was raced the "24 hours of Le Mans" 1974, but retired with engine problems, and by the end of 1974, Matra announced their withdrawal from motorsports.
